Exceptionally strong and handy cross hatch cutter made on the lines of DIN EN ISO 2409 and ASTM D3359-02 to conduct cross cut tests. The SecoTest is used for the assessment of adhesiveness of single or multiple coatings (varnishes, synthetic materials, etc.) on hard (steel) and soft (wood) substrates.
The cross cut testers of the SecoTest series consist of a sturdy holder for the six-edge multi cutting blade and a rotatable non-slip grip, which prevents the multi cutting blade from canting.
To ensure that this procedure is repeatable, put the test object through a suitable conditioning process (see DIN EN ISO 2409, section 6); while testing at construction sites make a note of the ambient conditions in the test report.
The procedure defined by ISO 4642 can be employed to measure adhesiveness.
